Last season my CP had a conflict with the local surrounding residences of Carlmont High School.  We couldn't use the sound system for our games on Sunday mornings.  The school made some sort of agreement with the residential area that the lights and the sound system of the stadium would only be used once a week.  This is an issue that my CP President is working on getting changed.  Its unfair to our players that their games cannot be announced over the loudspeaker and to our cheerleaders who do not get to perform halftime or sideline routines.

My CP hasn't encouraged any legislative changes.  Within or own program we hold our own board meetings twice a month to get any issues sorted out.  THe cheer Athletic Director and I did have some changes made to the cheer registration process.  We made the fee higher to cover the costs of certain things that need to be paid for throughout the season and we also made cheer camp mandatory for all girls this season.  Camp is a great tool into teaching the cheerleaders the basics of certain skills so that when the season comes and we need to use those skills they have a feel for them.  The process that we took was that we got our point on the agenda of the meeting and we proposed or argument for the changes and the board then voted on them.

My CP does not participate in political campaigns or take political stands on campaigns or candidates.  My CP doesn't do this because they are a youth sports organization, there is no need to do so.  Politics doesn't really play any role in the running of the program or have any need to have a role.
